It is likely that many of those you serve will be receiving funds from the CARES Act or unemployment claims in the coming weeks and months.  As many of us know, this crucial time, as is true all the time, is critical for LMI households to receive trusted guidance on the best way to manage and optimize what is received through this time of transition.

As a Financial Capability practitioner, what do you need to know to be in the best position to advise those you serve with sound counsel?

With more than 6% of Floridians with no bank account and 18.3% underserved with an account, it is imperative to bring them safely into the financial mainstream.  FPP’s Guest Expert, David Rothstein of the CFE Fund, will discuss Bank On and other financial security measures that can help during these tough economic times.  He will also discuss the economic stimulus rebate and unemployment compensation pieces of the federal COVID-19 response as they relate to banking.

About the Guest Expert . . .

David Rothstein is Principal with the CFE Fund, where he leads the Bank On national project.  Bank On has more than 80 coalitions and dozens of certified financial institutions, including several that are part of the Bank On Florida movement, working to bring individuals into safe, affordable, and fully transactional bank accounts.
