To help people stay in stable housing during the COVID-19 pandemic, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) issued an order that means you may be protected from eviction if you can’t afford to pay your rent. To be protected, you must sign and give a CDC Declaration to your landlord.

The CDC just extended its eviction protection order until July 31, 2021. If you already gave your landlord a CDC Declaration and your situation hasn’t changed, you don’t need to do it again to be protected until July 31.
