During the coronavirus pandemic, actions taken by both the public and private sector – including moratoriums on foreclosures and evictions – have prevented many Americans from losing their homes, but many legal protections are set to expire in the months ahead.
New CFPB research finds that over 11 million people – nearly 10 percent of U.S. households – may be at risk of losing their homes unless we take immediate and urgent action. And as we’ve seen with the pandemic, communities of color continue to be disproportionately impacted.
