The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau is offering a webinar open to the entire tax preparation field. This webinar puts important tools and resources in the hands of Volunteer Income Tax Assistance and Tax Counseling for the Elderly (VITA/TCE) programs for encouraging saving and promoting financial well-being. This webinar will focus on the booklets Behind on bills? Start with one step and Building your savings? Start with small goals, developed by the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau to help you talk with people about money topics that are important to them. During this webinar we will review a selection of tools from both each booklet and share tips on how to best use these tools with your clients.
- Behind on bills? Start with one step. This booklet includes eight tools targeted at income and expense tracking and managing bills.
- Building your savings? Start with small goals. This booklet focuses on prioritizing and setting saving goals, preparing for unexpected expenses, finding a place for savings, and making the most of a tax refund.
