(Message from United Way Suncoast) Hi advocates for homeless individuals getting Economic Impact Payments,

Attached is more outreach info for homeless individuals to ensure that they receive their Economic Impact Payments. In addition to sharing out this info, can you please let me know two big things:

  1. The IRS is collecting info on how far this reach is going. So if you are sharing this information, can you please let me know the size of the audiences that you are reaching?
  2. To help homeless individuals get their payments, the IRS is also looking for partners willing to serve as the mailing addresses for the payments for individuals. If your site is willing to be a physical site for homeless individuals, please let me know so that I can send the info to the IRS. The IRS needs to gather this information if you want to help, so that you can be added to the listing to ensure that it will not present a problem having multiple payments sent to the same location.

Also, at this group’s request, I have created a Google Drive Folder that has all of this information in one place:

https://drive.google.com/open?id=1OMPza8Vs8mKv98Lzfn71rLrDgUB4WpNK

The content in there is currently a little messy, but at least all of the content is available.

Thanks everyone for your help!

Stay safe,

~Douglas Griesenauer

Good afternoon partners,

The IRS is issuing Economic Impact Payments to every eligible American. We need your help to reach individuals who do not normally file because they do not have enough income that requires them to file. This includes the homeless, unbanked, certain seniors and some limited English-proficient individuals who will need to provide information to the IRS to get their Economic Impact Payment. If possible, those individuals can use the IRS free online tool to sign up to get an Economic Impact Payment:  www.irs.gov/nonfilereip

Some individuals may not have internet capability, a bank account or a permanent address. These citizens may need additional assistance claiming their Economic Impact Payment. Feel free to contact me and we can discuss solutions that may be available in your area.

Payments are Automatic for Many Federal Beneficiaries – SSA, SSI, RRB and VA: For those receiving Social Security retirement, survivor or disability benefits (SSDI), Railroad Retirement benefits, Supplemental Security Income (SSI) and Veterans Affairs benefits who didn’t file a tax return in the last two years, no action is needed; they will automatically receive their $1,200 payment.

We need your help sharing information with those that will not automatically receive their payment and may not know they are eligible for the payment.

We have included information for you to share with your clients and fellow outreach partners. Please let us know the results of your outreach efforts.

More information is being added to IRS.gov/coronavirus. You can find additional marketing materials and answers to frequently asked questions at IRS.gov/eippartners. Please follow the IRS Social Media accounts to receive the latest information that the IRS shares.
