I hope this email finds you safe and well. Senator Brian Schatz has put together an easy-to-read, comprehensive resource page on his Senate website around the CARES Act and it’s many provisions – https://www.schatz.senate.gov/press-releases/schatz-releases-comprehensive-guide-to-help-hawaii-families-workers-businesses-access-federal-funding-apply-for-new-benefits-through-coronavirus-aid-package.
While he’s framing the resources with his Hawaii constituents in mind, these should be applicable to anyone in the country and the program breakdowns are in very plain English. Among the many things to flag here is the subsection on the new SBA Paycheck Protection Loan Program (the forgivable loan program for small businesses and non-profits). Applications will begin to be accepted by lenders beginning tomorrow, April 3.
The page contains links to apply and fact sheets for borrowers and lenders. While many Members of Congress have issued resources to constituents, this is the most comprehensive page we’ve seen so far. I hope this is helpful.
