The United Way of Central Florida is focused every day on using donor dollars to make the maximum impact on improving health, education and financial stability in Polk, Hardee and Highlands Counties.
In “normal” years, March would mark a month of heightened activity in United Way of Central Florida’s annual campaign as staff and volunteers canvas our communities to finish the fund drive strong and reach the goal of nearly $10 million.
This is not a “normal” year though and, in keeping with the objective of maximizing impact in these uniquely challenging times, United Way of Central Florida has chosen to sunset its proprietary campaign in favor of forming an alliance with the GiveWell Community Foundation.
In so doing, we hope to reach a larger donor audience, address a broader array of issues and fund a larger set of service providers that can address the new and unprecedented needs that are presenting themselves daily.
By teaming up with the GiveWell Community Foundation, United Way of Central Florida hopes to amplify the impact that donors have in addressing the changing community needs with a degree of flexibility that our challenging situation calls for. We thank all of the donors and supporters of United Way of Central Florida and GiveWell Community Foundation and pledge our continued vigilance in achieving our commitment to you for results oriented, transparent, effective and efficient delivery of beneficial outcomes in the communities we serve.
Every day, people in our community struggle to afford necessities like housing, food, transportation, and clothing. Now, children are out of school, businesses are temporarily closing, community events are being canceled, and workers are being laid off. They need you now more than ever. You can help! By donating to the United Community Relief Fund, you’ll fund grants that will benefit people all over our community. Giving here is a way for you to support nonprofits that are working to meet unprecedented needs in our community.
